How a call works

Six steps, none of them a form you fill out on the shoulder.

  1. 1

    Text the cross street

Or call. Either way the first thing we need is where you are: a cross street, a mile marker on 260 or 60, or a pin from your phone. Then the vehicle and what it is doing.

  2. 2

    We say a number

You hear the floor for the service and the mileage from Lakeside, out loud, before the truck moves. Prices are the floor. We set a fair number with you. If the number does not work for you, say so; sometimes it moves, sometimes the parts fund covers the gap.

  3. 3

    We say a time

A real arrival time, not a window. Inside Pinetop-Lakeside that is usually within the hour; Show Low and the forest roads take longer and we tell you. If something changes, you get a text.

  4. 4

    The truck shows up

Stay in the car on the highway with your hazards on. In a driveway, clear a spot. We work with the truck as a barrier on the shoulder and we bring our own light.

  5. 5

We fix it, or we tell you what it is

Most calls end with the car running. When they do not, you leave with the actual problem written down, what it should cost at a shop, and which shop in Show Low we would use.

  6. 6

You pay the number you agreed to

Cash, Cash App, or Venmo when it is done. No invoice surprises; the parts came at our cost and the hours were the hours.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account or an app?
No. A phone that can text or call is the whole system.
What if I cannot pay today?
Tell us on the phone. The parts fund exists so a neighbor with a dead battery and no money until Friday still gets to work. We would rather know up front.
Will you tow me?
We are not a tow company. If the car needs a flatbed we say so, and we can wait with you and tell you who to call.
What hours do you answer?
Monday through Saturday, 24 hours. Sunday we are closed and the phone goes to voicemail; text anyway and you are first on Monday.
