Battery jump and replacement in Pinetop-Lakeside

A battery that was fine in September is not fine at 7,000 feet in January. We jump it, test it, and tell you straight whether it is coming back.

$35 plus $1/mile after 10 miles · Prices are the floor. We set a fair number with you.

Cold-soak is the White Mountain battery killer. A car that sits outside overnight at 10°F loses close to half its cranking amps by morning, and a battery past its third winter will not have the margin. We bring a proper jump pack, not a pair of cables and hope, and a tester that reads state of health, not just voltage.

If the battery tests bad we can usually fit a new one on the spot from the truck for common group sizes, at cost plus the hourly rate for the swap. If it tests good you pay the jump and go. We will also look at the alternator belt and terminals while the hood is up, because a jump that works twice is not a repair.

Trailheads, forest-road pullouts, and cabin driveways are all fine. If you are somewhere a two-wheel-drive truck cannot reach, say so when you call and we will figure out the walk-in.

When you call, have this

  • The cross street or the cabin name
  • Year, make, and model
  • Whether it clicks, cranks slow, or does nothing

Questions people ask

How much is a jump start?
The floor is $35, which covers the first ten miles from Lakeside. After that it is $1 a mile. If you are in Pinetop-Lakeside, that is the number.
Can you replace the battery on the spot?
Usually. The truck carries common group sizes. A replacement is the battery at cost plus the hourly rate for the swap, and we test the charging system before we leave so you are not back on the phone next week.
Why does my battery die every cold morning?
Cold-soak. Overnight lows drop the battery’s available amps while the engine oil thickens and asks for more. A battery past three winters loses that race. A load test tells you whether it is the battery, the alternator, or a draw somewhere.
Do you come out at night?
Monday through Saturday, around the clock. Sunday we are closed. Text the cross street first and we will tell you a real arrival time.
